FASHION, VANITY & HUMOUR

These paintings are mostly humorous philosophical exaggerations emphasizing the creative but peacock nature of woman towards fashion, donning extravagant forms of dress and exposing extremes of décolletage, legs, buttocks, etc, dressed in ‘creations’ costing small fortunes, all part of the natural male/female dance to attract the opposite sex and intimidate one’s competition. The artist incorporates high colour, exaggerated elegant body forms and continuous interwoven sensuous lines that flow throughout the designs resulting in these lovely, somewhat startling, feminine forms. All these body shapes evolve from his other more realistic paintings or sketches from live models.
