SEASCAPES, LANDSCAPES AND NATURE

Almost all of Victor’s work has some philosophical content, even if it is simply the power and beauty of nature. All of his works draw heavily on realism, often the seaside environments where he was born and lived, or the rainforest he frequently visits for inspiration. Each work becomes a personal interpretation stressing the beauty, vigour or power that the subject matter has sparked in the artist’s imagination. The painting’s sensuous impact becomes more important than the realism used to create it. Many of these paintings are painted partly or completely ‘on site’, sometimes working with a live model, or in the forest or by the sea.
